About the Therapist
Hi, I’m Taylor Shelton-Davis. As a spirit-oriented therapist and Certified Trauma Professional, I provide a grounding, collaborative space to help you uncover the root causes of what is holding you back. Together, we’ll build the tools you need to move forward.
If you’ve found your way to this page, chances are you are someone who knows exactly where you want to go in life, but you feel stuck in place. Maybe relationship anxiety has you questioning your worth, or maybe the daily grind of school, career, and family has left you feeling profoundly burnt out and overwhelmed.
My Approach to Healing
You don’t have to navigate life’s heaviest transitions alone.
Many of the people who find their way to my practice are feeling exhausted by self-sabotaging patterns, disconnected from their bodies, or overwhelmed by a chaotic season of change. You might know intellectually what you "should" do, but deep down, a part of you feels stuck.
I don't sit across from you as a distant expert handing down answers. Therapy with me is a deeply collaborative, grounded partnership. Together, we gently look past quick fixes to explore the root causes of what is holding you back.
As a therapist rooted in holistic, Self-led healing, I believe that everyone possesses an innate wisdom and capacity for restoration. My role is to help you access that core wholeness—bringing balance and harmony across your mind, body, emotions, and spirit.
Here is how we bring this into our work:
Internal Family Systems (Parts Work): We will gently get to know the different "parts" of you—like the Inner Critic that tries to keep you safe, the People-Pleaser, or the part that feels perpetually overwhelmed. Instead of fighting these parts, we learn to understand them, allowing your core, wise Self to take the lead.
Somatic Therapy: Healing doesn't just happen in our thoughts; it happens in our nervous system. We will pay attention to how your body holds stress, trauma, and emotion, helping you release physical tension, discharge trapped energy, and feel truly safe in your own skin.
Mindfulness & Compassion-Focused Practices: We will build simple, grounding tools to quiet the mental chatter and help you move out of "survival mode." You'll learn to meet your feelings with curiosity and kindness rather than judgment.
Cognitive & Trauma-Informed Frameworks: We’ll untangle the deep-seated beliefs and past experiences that fuel anxiety or self-doubt, giving you practical, real-world strategies to break old cycles and build secure, thriving relationships.
Whether you are trying to break free from long-standing patterns, process deep-seated emotion, or find your footing during a chaotic transition, I am here to provide the space and the tools you need to find your way home to yourself.
Beyond the Screen: A Bit About Me
Healing isn’t just something I studied in textbooks, it’s a philosophy I live by. I describe myself as a spirit-oriented therapist, which simply means I see you as a whole human being: mind, body, and soul. I truly believe we all have an inner compass and a deep capacity for resilience, even when life's noise makes it hard to hear.
In my own life, I prioritize practices that keep me grounded, present, and connected. When I’m not in the therapist chair, you can usually find me lost in a fantasy novel, on my yoga mat, taking a walk in nature, or soaking up the energy at a local festival with my favorite people.
I know firsthand how vital it is to carve out spaces for peace in a world that constantly demands we over-function—and I bring that same dedication to peace into the space we create together.
A Personal Understanding of Family Dynamics
My path to becoming a therapist was deeply shaped by my own family. I am a proud sister to two brothers with developmental disabilities.
Growing up alongside them gave me a front-row seat to the incredible strengths, profound love, and distinct complexities that exist within special-needs households. I know firsthand the unspoken pressure to "have it all together," the unique weight of sibling advocacy, and the nuanced family dynamics that can arise.
If you are a sibling, caregiver, or family member navigating this terrain, please know that I offer a deeply empathetic space informed by real lived experience. Here, you don't have to explain the invisible realities of your world—I truly get it.
